Introducing our new organic, natural handmade 'Herbal' Goat's Milk Soap

At The Natural Skincare Company we have, for some time now, felt it was difficult to find really lovely bath and soap products which do not contain any harmful artificial chemical ingredients.  It is particularly difficult to source bath products without SLS (sodium laurel sulphate) because many of these require a foaming agent which, by its nature, is a chemical ingredient.  We hope to expand our range to include a comprehensive selection of bath and soap products; all of which contain only the highest quality  and if possible organically sourced ingredients.  But more importantly the formulations must be good for the skin, regardless of their organic status!

Cold Processed Recipe

We spent many months carrying out research and development and are excited and proud to announce that our 'HERBAL' Goat's Milk Soap is the first product in our new organic and natural range of bath and soap products. Our manufacturers have been making traditional soaps in handmade wooden moulds for many years.  This cold-processed soap recipe took over 3 years to perfect, to achieve the perfect balance of hardness, a rich, creamy lather and noticable moisturising qualities.  The soap has a long cure time and each block is trimmed by hand, before it is cut into 100g sized bars which fit comfortably in the hand.  

We only use top quality ingredients, including shea and cocoa butters and real goat's milk in our soaps (it's a hard ingredient to work with, so many soap makers add powdered milk). In addition, the palm oil is organic and from a sustainable source in Columbia, so it does not contribute to the destruction of the rain forest in the Far East.  The essential oils we use are aromatherapy grade. There is never any waste with our soaps since they wear down to a wafer thin slither, which can be stuck onto a fresh bar of soap while it's wet.

Why The Natural Skincare Co.  uses sustainable palm oil

The Natural Skincare Company is delighted to announce that our manufacturers use an organic palm oil from a sustainable source in Columbia.   Palm oil is an ingredient in our soaps, which helps to make a harder bar so it lasts for longer.   The problem with palm oil sourced from the Far East, is that it tends to be grown on palm plantations which have been planted after the rain forest has been cut down and burnt. This is causing catastrophic damage to the environment, and as the forests are destroyed it means that the local animals die too. Palm oil is in many products on our supermarket shelves (e.g. crisps, cakes, chocolate, biscuits, cosmetics, detergents, soaps etc), with more problems on the horizon due to the interest in bio fuels. Unless action is taken, more and more habitat will be destroyed and ultimately this could lead to the extinction of many animal species.
