  1. Lovely conditioner :) Review by Angie

I love the smell of this conditioner, Hair smells fresh all day. I found the first time I used it, I had to use more than normal, but much less the second time. I can honestly say my hair has come back to life with this conditioner and the jasmine shampoo (woohoo!) :) (Posted on 5/21/12)

I loved the smell of this conditioner - perfect in a morning shower before work!
I found the shampoo more effective than the shampoo to be fair, and would recommend this conditioner.
My hair is dark blonde, and is regularly highlighted, and as such needs a lot of on-going conditioning treatment, and I have used this conditioner about once a week along with the shampoo to 'rid' my hair and scalp of any residue left from modern products and to re-balance, and have found this to be effective.
I would recommend this product for people with oily/greasy hair who want to add some shine/sleek to their hair without the 'weight' of modern traditional conditioning products - be it wash out conditioners or leave in one's. (Posted on 12/7/11)

  3. The Curate's Egg conditioner. (Good in parts - not that it contains any animal ingredients.) Review by Patti

Lovely smell and leaves hair soft. Ethical and no nasties.

However, maybe a bit too soft for my fine hair, though I am sparing with it. Since starting to use it, I find myself frequently scratching the back of my head, just about the nape of my neck. Not too bad but something I don't usually do.

REPLY from Amanda: For those unaware yhe expression "a curate's egg" originally meant something that is partly good and partly bad, but as a result is entirely spoiled. Modern usage has tended to change this to mean something having a mix of good and bad qualities.

Of course, because I use and test everything we sell and unless I am happy will not stock any product, I have not experienced the same problems of itching. Occasionally, an individual will be sensitive to some of the ingredients in a products or it could be that you are using just a little bit too much of it for your hair type. If your hair is very fine, you would almost benefit from just using the Holy Basil Scalp Toner. As well as toning the scalp and helping with itching and dryness, it acts as a very very light conditioner too without adding any weight whatsoever to the hair.

It also may just be pure coincidence that you are experiencing itching around the nape of your neck. The last couple of weeks have been exceedingly cold with low humidity - ideal conditions to cause dry, itchy and flaky skin! Please do let me know how you get on and if the itching improves or gets worse?
