  1. did not work Review by david
    Rating

Used this as allergic to all other suncreams. Used on holiday in October 2011 but burnt so badly even after re applying regularly throughout the day. Nice smell but definately not suitable for me.

REPLY from Amanda: We are already in touch with David and it is difficult to know why he burned whilst using the product. Our initial investigation would suggest that he did not use a high enough SPF for the amount of sun he experienced during the day and that his allergic reactions could also have exacerbated his problem. However, we do take any problem very seriously and this particular bottle is now back with the manufacturers to be tested.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind all sunscreen users that there is an optimal amount of time in any one day that you can expose your skin to the sun. For some people this may be a very very short period of time, especially in hot sun and even using a high factor sun protection product.

Reapplying sunscreen is of course very important in order to keep the cream present on the surface of the skin, however, if you have 'used up' the amount of time in the sun, using a cream, for your skin type, SPF, sun strength, etc., then you will burn regardless of how many times you re-apply sunscreen.

Thankfully, we have very few customers who are disappointed in this product, and in actual fact, the Caribbean Blue range is a bit of a lifeline to many who experience heat rash and other problems with conventional creams.

  2. Shame Review by Linda
    Rating

Having bought the SPF8 cream at the same time, and been delighted with it, I'm sorry that I can't say the same for this cream.

Firstly it left a slight white residue, this also 'bobbled' so I'd look down at my cleavage and see cheesy looking bits which I guess was harmless, just not terribly attractive. I could have lived with that to be honest if it'd worked. This cream is waterproof, I bought it especially for my face and decolletage knowing I'd be spending time in the water with my child and these are the areas most likely to burn. Despite topping up regularly, I did burn, and funnily enough, only in the places not covered with the non waterproof SPF8! You could actually see the join the first night. Lashings of aftersun cream....

I wore a t shirt and hat the next 2 days, and put it down to maybe just not topping up enough, then on day 4 made sure I was really on it, treating the cream as non waterproof. I burned again. More lashings of aftersun...

Stayed out of the sun again next day, and spent the final 2 days with the SPF8 on, and was absolutely fine.

So you have one product I was telling everyone about - it's amazing how many people were complaining of prickly heat symptoms! and one that I honestly couldn't reccommend, no this one didn't cause prickly heat, but it didn't do what it was supposed to either. This is a shame.

Funny thing, I'm not actually that fair skinned, I normally tanned easily and well and had to be quite silly in the sun to get burned - like wear no cream at all and go out for the day. I'm not an english rose type...

REPLY from Amanda: I am concerned that this happened to you and would really like to investigate the cream - I recently used the SPF15 and 25 on holiday and had no problems,so I do wonder if the cream was faulty. I am getting in touch with Linda as this certainly is not the way the sun lotion is supposed to work! (Posted on 9/18/11)

  3. A good product Review by Paul

Have only used it once since I purchased it , I am pleased with it so far. Being allergic to some ingredients in conventional sun creams, the test will be when I use it during my imminent holiday to the USA . (Posted on 8/20/11)

  4. Great for daughter's eczema prone, very sensitive skin. Review by Jenn
    Rating

I bought this to try to provide some relief for my daughter who has very sensitive skin and suffers a lot from eczema. She always breaks out with the heat and sun creams just made it a hundred times worse. This cream doesn't aggrivate her skin AT ALL!!! She has black skin so she does end up looking a bit white washed but its a small price to pay. She's sun safe and it doesn't bother her. Amanda recommended some of the lower factor creams which are non water resistant and the trial sizes didn't make her as white but I felt a 4 year old needed something more sturdy for playing in the sun. So pleased she can enjoy the sun without the painful skin she ended up with before. Many thanks for your help. Great product! (Posted on 7/30/11)

  5. Best sun cream I have bought Review by Sue
    Rating

This is the first suncream that I have found that does not bring me up in hives. I have purchased many different brands that claim to be suitable for sensitive sun and wasted many pounds as none of them ever worked.
I will certainly recommend this product to friends who suffer from similar skin sensitivity. (Posted on 7/28/11)

  6. dries with white residue Review by Rebecca
    Rating

It's a great natural products but i find that it dries with a white residue and when I tried to dissolve it more into my skin white bits remain on my skin and i have to wipe them off. a bit of trouble...

REPLY from Amanda: This shouldn't happen Rebecca, so not sure why this is happening with your product. If you would like to get in touch with us on 01403 790913, we can see if we can get to the bottom of it! Thanks! (Posted on 7/5/11)

  8. Excellent Product Review by Lior

I loved this product. Smells great, lasts a long time while in the sun. And a little goes a long way, so didn't have to smear half a bottle on each time I went into the sun. My wife has very fair skin and usually burns easily even with spf30+ on, but just using this spf15 and being naturally careful in the sun, she did not burn at all, and actually got her first real suntan.

Would definitely recommend (Posted on 1/13/11)

What a lovely creamy lotion, smelt good too. I orgianlly bought this to use in Africa in October this year but have just tried it out and its lovely, no white streaky marks (which some of them leave) easy to put on, just a lovely product. It is a bit pricey but thats the cost I unfortunately have to pay for being a vegan. (Posted on 8/11/10)

  10. Really pleased not to be covered in a white film at last Review by Sarah
    Rating

I have always had to use reflective sun screens as I am allergic to the standard ones. However, up until trying this range I've had to put up with covering myself in a thick and unattractive skin drying white film. I am delighted to have found a product that I can use that doesn't make me look like Casper the ghost. (Posted on 6/8/10)
