I recently ordered a sample of Paul Penders foundation. The foundation was lovely, smooth, moisturizing and gives a even coverage. Such a useful service. The pots contain enough for several applications so you can really try the products properly. I received samples of the Paul Penders foundation in Island Sand and Sweet Amber and the Nvey liquid foundation in 512. For me the Nvey is the best. Its shade is between the other two and perfect for me - I have 'English rose' colouring with fair skin that has gained more colour over the years due to pigmentation and rosacea. It gives light to medium coverage with a matte finish, whereas the Paul Penders has a little bit of shimmer. (Posted on 10/25/11)

I ordered two colours of the foundation, one for me and one for my mum to try. I tried the island sand, which was the perfect shade for me, but it disappeared when I put it on and there was absolutely no coverage at all. After only about 30 minutes my skin looked oily and dirty and I had to wash my face. I have tried so many foundations over the years, but this one was like just putting on a moisturizer.... not what I want.

REPLY from Amanda: I am so sorry that the Paul Penders foundation did not suit your skin. They are very light and moussy in texture and of course, will not give the coverage of a heavier foundation. You may want to try the Nvey ECO Creme Delux range which are palette type foundations and used for photographic work and have great staying power and coverage whilst still containing natural and organic ingredients. The Paul Penders foundations can also be 'set' using their translucent mineral powder, which does give greater staying power! (Posted on 10/11/11)

Great to be able to order samples as organic make-up can vary greatly in coverage and staying power and can be quite expensive. I ordered samples of Paul Penders and Nvey. I found Paul Penders too shiny and slightly sticky (I have oily, problem skin) but Nvey gives good coverage and stops any shine coming through all day. 510 was too light and all the others were too dark, but I found a mix of 510 and 514 gives just the right colour so i'll be putting in an order for both of these. Trying to get foundation online is pretty pointless if you've never seen the product. They'renever be the right shade in my experience! The samples are so helpful and there's enough in each pot to allow you to try them properly for more than one application. Stops you wasting money and makes sure if you find one you like you'll be a repeat customer, whereas with other companies you buy one product, it doesn't suit and you never buy from them again rather than risk wasting more money. I have been using the sample of paul penders moisture foundation. I have found it to be very soothing and my skin looks a lot better. The foundation has calmed the redness I had given up looking for products to help as everything I have used over the last 7 years that I have had this condition has msde it even worse or I have had a bad reaction to them. I am always struggling to find a foundation that is suited to my sensitive skin and in the correct shade. I ordered 4 samples 2 Paul Penders and 2 Nvey ECO. For me the Island Sand (Paul Penders) was the hands down winner - I have noticed a difference in how my skin is looking even though I have only been using it for a week. I have ordered the full size of this foundation. I am often referred to as pale so for anyone with pale skin colour looking at these reviews island sand is probably the one to go for unless you are really pale - I also got the sample for the hazel ivory and as per previous reviews this is very pale so I am using it like a highlighter. The foundations are a lovely creamy consistancy. I wanted to try these as an alternative because I usually use mineral powder foundation. I tried the Hazel Ivory which I think would only be suited to very pale skin as it is almost a white colour. The Island Sand is a nice creamy beige colour which would suit a lot of people. Unfortunately on my mature skin I still prefer the mineral powder foundations.
