Caribbean Blue SunShield Sport SPF25 - 120ml
No NANO particles! Sun Shield Sport is a unique 100% all-natural sunscreen formula that is water resistant, making it ideal for the active person. Many healthcare practitioners believe that a Sun Protection Factor of 15 (SPF 15) is basically all that is needed for overall protection from the sun. An SPF 15 blocks 93.3% of the sun’s UVB rays, while an SPF 30 blocks 96.7%. Therefore, the SPF 15 provides a level of maximal screening of the suns rays, and SPF values above this point give less and less added protection. However, having said this, there are times when a higher SPF factor can be useful - for instance, when it is impossible to keep certain areas of the body away from the sun's rays; such as the tip of the nose, the back of the neck and sometimes the shoulders. An SPF 25 lotion can be useful in these circumstances but we would always recommend that you keep out of the sun completely between the hours of 11.00 am and 3.00 pm. There is also a growing body of evidence to suggest that a little sunshine is good for your skin giving your body important amounts of Vitamin D which is difficult to get through a normal diet. As in most things in life, moderation is the key; only you know your own body, how it tans and how it reacts to the sun. great for prickly heat sufferers! Review by kg23
Rating I bought this for my son as he seems to have developed prickly heat on holidays. It worked a treat and no burning either. Great for children in and out of the sea....the reason i didn't give it 5 stars was it was like putting on thick paint and not keen on the lavender smell. ? Not suitable if you have asthma as the smell was quite powerful...change the scent and a well deserved 5 stars!!

I will speak to the manufacturers about he lavender aroma - it could be that the batch you received had a more powerful aroma than is usual, when I used the sunscreen last year I didn' t notice this myself - so will definitely check this! Rating I absolutely love Caribbean Blue Sun Shield Sport. I used to use a lower SPF one by the same company but I became wary of using sunscreen with nano- or microfine particles so I started buying this one instead as it does not use nano particles.
I have used Caribbean Blue sunscreens for several years on myself and my son for holidays in Greece in July when the temperature is often 35-40 degrees for 2 weeks at a time. We have never burned using this and we swim in the sea for hours at a time. I like the smell although I think the previous one I used to use had a lovely peppermint smell which I preferred to the lavender scent. I will be continuing to use Sun Shield Sport and I recommend it highly. (Posted on 4/14/12) -

Rating I work outside and depend heavily upon suncream to protect my skin. I feel this sun cream is very effective in shielding my skin from the sun. It also nourishes my skin. I suppose it makes my skin a tad white, but it is white anyway and I am glad to remain that way. A very worthwhile product for those who value the health of their skin. (Posted on 8/6/11)

This product is manufactured without the use of nano-technology. Although there is no conclusive evidence that zinc oxide based nano particles enter the blood stream and the manufacturers of these techniques claim that they do not do so, our naturopathic suppliers have taken the decision to formulate their Caribbean Blue ranges without nano particles.
What does this mean to you? You will notice a slight whiteness when applying the sunscreen. This is useful as you will be able to see where to apply the screen. After about 20 minutes the whiteness will have completely disappeared in the majority of people.
